Volunteer Language Teachers visited Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor

4 August 2020 – Due to complete teaching task in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and the end of the contract on 7 August 2020, four volunteer language teachers will back to China soon, namely Mr. Li Xin, Mr. Shen Guoqing, Ms. Xu Jinzhi and Ms. Yang Liuping. 

Both directors Confucius Institute Universiti Malaysia Pahang (CI UMP), namely Ms. Yong Ying Mei (Director Malaysia, CI UMP) and Prof. Dr. Guo Fuliang (Director China, CI UMP) accompany four volunteer language teachers visited Professor Ts. Dr Mohd Rosli Bin Hainin (Deputy Vice Chancellor-Academic & International) and Professor Ir. Dr Wan Azhar Bin Wan Yusoff (Vice Chancellor UMP).

Ms. Yong Ying Mei (Director Malaysia Confucius Institute) reported the works and performance of volunteer language teachers, including teaching Mandarin courses, organized language and cultural activities, trained students for Chinese Bridge Competition, wrote article for CI UMP publicity, invigilated HSK test and etc.

Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellor appreciated the commitments given by volunteer language teachers. They also concerned about the feeling of volunteer language teachers teaching in UMP and living in Malaysia. Volunteer language teachers adapted living life and working in Malaysia well and they feel UMP staff and students are friendly and enthusiasm.

Besides that, Vice Chancellor also handover face shield to volunteer language teachers and wish them have a safety journey back to China. The face shield is a product of UMP which created by Dr. Zamzuri Hamedon, Dr. Ismayuzri Ishak and Khairul Fikri Muhammad (senior lecturers at Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology).
