A Visit to Hebei University

On 18 May 2011, CMLHS sent a delegate to Hebei University (HBU) under the directive of Dato’ Professor Dr. Daing Nasir, the UMP Vice-Chancellor to discuss with representatives of College of International Exchange and Education (CIEE) on the programs details and curriculum structure for MLCC. The delegate, led CMLHS Dean, Prof. Dr. Abd Jalil Borham, and other members included Chong Ah Kow, MLCC coordinator and Saharudin Ramli, assistant registrar of CMLHS. They were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Xu Jianzhong, Director of CIEE, Prof. Dr. Guo Fuliang, First Vice-Director of CIEE and Dr. Wei, Vice-Director of CIEE.

An agreement was reached and both parties would prepare their own proposals of the program details and curriculum content structure of MLCC to be developed for the endorsement of the senates of respective universities. A Memorandum of Agreement on the MLCC proposals was signed by both parties on 19 May 2011.  CMLHS was represented by its Dean, Prof. Dr. Abd Jalil Borham, while Prof. Dr. Xu Jianzhong, the Director of CIEE represented HBU for signing the MoA. CIEE held a simple MoA signing ceremony in its office which was also witnessed by Chong Ah Kow,  MLCC coordinator and Prof. Dr. Guo Fuliang, First Vice-Director of CIEE.

Besides, the delegate also visited Volunteer Teachers Division of Hanban, which is the organization handling the international volunteer Chinese teachers.  They were received by Dr. Guo Jiaoyang who gave a very positive response to the request of three volunteer teachers by MLCC. It is hoped that such collaboration can sustain the jointly established MLCC.
