Chinese Tea Talk
MLCC & Mandarin Language Society organized a Chinese Tea Culture Talk in conjunction with the Mandarin Language & Chinese Culture Week 2011 on 18.11.2011. The talk which was given by Mr. Joseph Koh from Chinese Cultural Society of Pahang received a overwhelming response from UMP community. The speaker Mr. Joseph said, Chinese tea is alkaline which not only can dissolve fat but also clear up toxin in our body, thus it is good for health as well as body beauty. During the talk, he used instant noodle to show how tea could remove toxin easily. Mr. Joseph has studied tea culture for the last 18 years and he briefly explained tea’s history and types of tea. He said Pu Er is the best of Chinese tea. In response to a question by an audience, he reminded that no Chinese tea within one hour after having medicine, because tea would drain away the medicine like other toxin. Attendees of the talk included Prof. Dr. Abd Jalil of CMLHS, Mr. Chong Ah Kow, Ms Yong Ying Mei and Mohamad Saddam, the head of programme of Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture Week.
