Tai Chi Demonstration by Volunteer Teachers
The Tai Chi demonstration was presented successfully in UMP Chinese Culture Week. This demonstration were presided by 2 volunteer teachers that come from China, Yun Jie and Liu Xu. This demonstration also attracted participants that come from different background to join the demonstration and practice. Jie and Xu said, they learn about Tai Chi during the study life. Tai Chi also is a compulsory course that required registering for those who are under training of Mandarin teacher program. The trained volunteer teacher must have the basis of Tai Chi in order to promote this art in their teaching school. Jie also said, Tai Chi is origin from China since long time ago, the movement is combination of hardness and softness. This traditional art could be exercise as defence as well as strengthen the body health which preventing from physical movement disease. In additional, the elements practicing in Tai Chi enable us to make the psychological adjustment and self-cultivation. A number of students said that they thought all Chinese KungFu is powerful but Tai Chi is exception as it is soft and relieve. Besides that, they also felt difficulty on handling the essentials. It is not easy to exercise Tai Chi as needed to read the formulae while practicing. The advisors and president of UMP Chinese Culture Week also attended to join this Tai Chi demonstration and practicing together with others. - Chong Ah Kow |
