Appreciating the Volunteer Teachers

The volunteer language teachers from Hebei University, China, namely Liu Xu, Yuan Jie and Zhang Cuicui, have greatly contributed to the teaching and learning activities organized by the Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC), CMLHS, UMP. They joined MLCC in September 2011 and have since actively participated in all activities organized by MLCC. To appreciate and recognize their abundant contributions, MLCC held a simple lunch for them on 11 June 2012 at the Restoran Ayudtaya, Sungai Isap Jaya. The invited guests included Professor Dr. Abd Jalil Borham, Dr. Norrihan Sulan, Dr. Nik Aloesnita Nik Mohd Alwi and Saharudin Ramli. MLCC associates Yong Ying Mei, Chong Ah Kow and Nornashua Farhani Abdul Ghaffar also attended the lunch.

The volunteer teachers’ service in UMP will end on 25 June 2012 for the current session. Professor Dr. Abd Jalil Borham, CMLHS Dean, expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the volunteer teachers and extended UMP’s invitation to them to come back and teach in MLCC for the coming academic year. They were presented with local batik cloth as souvenir by MLCC.
