UMP & Hebei University (HU) agreed on MLCC’s role

On 21 January 2013, Professor Dato’ Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim, Vice Chancellor of UMP lead a delegation to Hebei University for MLCC-HU Strategic Networking Meeting in HU. Members of the delegate, other than the Vice Chancellor UMP, included Professor Ir. Dr. Jailani bin Salihon, Dean of Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Natural Resources, Chong Ah Kow, Mandarin Language & Culture Centre (MLCC) Coordinator,and Emma Melati binti Burhanuddin, Assistant Registrar of the Vice Chancellor Office. The main objectives of the delegation were to identify relevant disciplines for student exchange programmes, to seek possibility to upgrade MLCC and to determine the cost and time schedule for student mobility programmes with Hebei University (HU).

The UMP delegates were warmly received by the top management of HU, including Professor Fu Guangsheng, President, Professor Wang Fengming, Vice President, Professor Li Xiaoliu, Dean of College of International Exchange and Edocation (CIEE), Professor Guo Fuliang, Vice Director CIEE, Professor Cheng Enqing, Vice Director of International Cooperation, and Asso. Professor Liang Weige, Assitant Dean of CIEE. Both UMP and HU agreed that MLCC should facilitate students from UMP to do exchange or mobility programmes. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on student exchange programme, student mobility programme and upgrading of MLCC between the two universities was signed by Professor Dato’ Daing Nasir Ibrahim, representing UMP, and Professor Fu Guangsheng, representing HU. At the end of the MoA signing ceremony, HU took the opportunity to confer Guest Professorship on Professor Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim.
