MLCC TO TRAIN KUANTAN PORT CONSORTIUM'S STAFF TO SPEAK MANDARIN MLCC was picked to train the staff of Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd (KPC) in Mandarin conversation. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on the training programme was signed between UMP and KPC on 10 September 2013, which were represented by Vice Chancellor Dato’ Daing Nasir Ibrahim and Chief Operating Officer Ir Haji Khasbullah A. Kadir respectively. In his speech at the ceremony, Dato’ Vice Chancellor expressed that the MoA was in line with the UMP Strategic Plan 2011-2015 to expand UMP’s networking with the industrial sector. He added, “With the rise of China as world’s new economic power, the knowledge of Chinese culture and proficiency in Mandarin language are no longer a luxury, but a necessity.” Chief Operating Officer of KPC, Ir Haji Khasbullah A. Kadir expressed his thankfulness of the cordial reception given by UMP. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Azahari Muhammad Yusof, General Manager I, KPC, and Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil Borham, Dean, Centre of Modern Languages & Human Sciences. Other VIPs attended the ceremony include Mr. N. Selvarajah, General Manager II, KPC, Mdm Rahimah binti Badarudin, Human Resources Manager, KPC, YH Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Professor Dr. Mashitah Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Professor Dr. Shamsuddin Baharin, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Development & Quality Management), Professor Dr. Yuserrie Bin Zainuddin, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Students Affair & Alumna), Mr. Chong Ah Kow, MLCC Coordinator. |
