Visiting of Chinese New Year Open House

On 31 January 2014, which was the first day of Chinese New Year, Mandarin Language & Culture Centre (MLCC) organized a trip to YH Dato’ Sri Lee Jin Xian’s open house. He is the President of Malaysian Chinese Culture Association for Pahang branch. The trip comprised of 8 foreign students and 1 lecturer from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and was led by Peng An Qi, a volunteer teacher from MLCC. The guests of the day were served mouthwatering Chinese, Malay as well as vegetarian cuisine. The students were really enjoying the festiveness of Chinese New Year celebration especially when they received ‘ang pow’, a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions, from the host. Besides, they also had the chance to watch the lion dance performance and observed the way Chinese greeted each other during Chinese New Year. |
