Mandarin Language & Cultural Carnival Closing Ceremony
3 in 1 Closing Ceremony Mandarin Language & Cultural Carnival Closing Ceremony On 13 March 2015, the Closing Ceremony of Mandarin Language & Cultural Carnival was held in W-DKU, Block W. The Carnival was organised in conjunction with Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Open Day 2015 by Mandarin Language and Cultural Centre (MLCC) in collaboration with Mandarin Language Society (MLS) from 9 to 13 March. The closing speech was delivered by Dr. Norrihan binti Sulan, the Deputy Dean of Centre of Modern Languages and Human Science. She claimed that learning language was never a waste. She was pleased to see UMP students showing high motivation in learning different languages and getting involved in different cultural activities. |

Newspaper Handover by Sponsor Earlier, a special guest of MLCC, Dato’ Alex Teh Boon Sing, was invited to give a speech. Dato’ Alex was the newspaper sponsor for MLCC for four consecutive years since 2012. He shared his experience in learning languages, emphasizing that mastering different languages is essential for graduates to perform better in their future careers. |

Yushang Preparation The ‘Yushang Preparation’ was introduced to all the participants later. Around 80 UMP students participated in it. Eating Yu Sheng during Chinese New Year is a cultural activity for the Chinese living in Singapore and Malaysia. Putting the Yusheng on the table symbolises the act of offering good luck and prosperity throughout the year. The esteemed event finally ended with loud cheers of greetings. |
