MLCC Presenters Won Excellent Award in Chinese Bridge Competition for Malaysia Region 2015
Monday, 18 May 2015|Yong Ying Mei Edited by: Faridah Hamzah MLCC Presenters Won Excellent Award in Chinese Bridge Competition for Malaysia Region 2015 On 17 May 2015, five students had represented Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in ‘The 14th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students 2015’ for Malaysia region at Kong Zi Institute, Universiti Malaya. In the competition, three students had won the ‘Excellent Award’ and they were Nur Anis Nazzatul Natasha binti Ishak (CB12026), Tharushini A/P Thiagarajan (AA13266) and Sharmila A/P Sewajje (AA13243). Another two students, Siti Noor Aisyah binti Muhamad Noor (KA13100) and Wahyu Nur Susianna binti Omar (AA13019) were given away the consolation prizes. The competition consisted of a series of tests including public speech, Q&A session and Chinese art talent show. All candidates were required to give speeches on “Chinese Culture and I” in Mandarin. MLCC presenters managed to deliver them with excellent accuracy, fluency and body language to score the highest marks. In the talent show, Tharushini and Sharmila performed a Chinese dance while Siti Noor Aisyah and Wahyu Nur Susianna sang a few Chinese songs. Nur Anis Nazzatul Natasha, on the other hand, showcased her talent in juggling Chinese diabolo. The greatest compliment should be paid to Ms Yong Ying Mei, who had wholeheartedly dedicated her time and effort in training and preparing UMP candidates for this event. This competition was also attended by other devoted Mandarin teachers, Ms Cheng Ching Yee, Ms Cui Meng Jie, Mr Chang Xiao Bo and Mr Wang Xiao Zhi. |
