MLCC had organized a Newspaper Handover by sponsor and Certificate Awarding Ceremony at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Gambang Campus on 17^th February 2016.In 2016, Dato’ Alex Teh Boon Sing, Executive Chairman, Nilaitek (M) Sdn. Bhd will sponsor 1095 copies of Sin Chew Daily for Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC). The company will donate three newspapers a day for a year with estimated value of RM1423.00.

In his speech, Dato’ Alex Teh strongly recommended Mandarin language for the students because the developmental trend of the world suggested that Mandarin would become an important language economically.

MLCC Director, Ms Yong Ying Mei in her welcoming speech expressed her gratitude towards YH Dato’ Alex Teh for his generosity in sponsoring Sin Chew Daily newspapers since 2012. The ceremony was officiated by Dr Jamal Rizal Razali, Head, Department of Foreign Languages, Centre for Modern Languages and Human Sciences.

Besides that, MLCC had organized a certificate awarding ceremony to give away certificates to 56 participants who had successfully completed Mandarin course in 2015. Ten non-native speakers of Mandarin managed to obtain excellent results in International Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK Test) after they had completed Intermediate Mandarin course. Dr Jamal Rizal Razali gave away the certificates to the students. In his speech, he congratulated all the participants and expressed his appreciation over their persistent effort in completing the course.

Also present were Mr Tan Kee Seng, East Coast Manager of Sin Chew Daily, Mr Tan Kian Seng, Sin Chew Daily Newspaper Reading Programme Executive, Mr Chong Ah Kow, Madam Kang Mei Feng and Ms Ju Meng from MLCC.
