UMP students received Confucian Scholarship for Mandarin Mobility Summer Program 2016

Three Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students received the Confucian Scholarship for Mandarin Mobility Summer Program 2016 at Tianjin University, China for one month beginning on 14 July until 15 August 2016.

Confucian Scholarship for Mandarin Mobility Summer Program 2016 was a program for non-Chinese students from all over the world, which was sponsored and coordinated by Headquarters of Confucius Institute, China (HANBAN) in collaboration with 26 selected China Universities. All candidates must pass HSK test with excellent results. Candidates applying this scholarship will undergo two series of evaluation including interview and essay writing organized by HANBAN.

UMP being the only Malaysian university awarded the Confucian Scholarship was represented by Zulhilmi Bin Mohd (PA14002), Hairul Bariyah Binti Mohammad (SA14053) and Ramizah Liyana Binti Rosdiansah (CD14014). The Director of Mandarin Languge and Culture Centre (MLCC), Yong Ying Mei said that these students showed their hardwork and dedication in enrolling for non-credit Mandarin course organized by MLCC.

Yong expressed her gratitude to all Mandarin teachers and staff, Ms Cheng Ching Yee, Madam Kang Mei Feng, Ms Wang Wen Ying, Ms Sun Yun Feng, Ms Ju Meng and Madam Nornashua Farhani Binti Abdul Ghaffar for their effort in training and preparing the UMP candidates in the application process of this scholarship.
