UMP Mandarin Singing Competition 2016

UMP Mandarin Singing Competition 2016 Mandarin Language Society (MLS) in collaboration with MLCC had organized a Mandarin Singing Competition on 21st September 2016. The event was held at the Mini Theater, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (Gambang Campus). The objectives of the competition were to stimulate the learning interest and to provide a platform for UMP students to learn Mandarin through Mandarin song singing, especially among non-Chinese UMP students who learn Mandarin as a Foreign Language. The competition was opened to all University Malaysia Pahang students to take part. The contestants were divided into two categories. Category A and Category B for Chinese and non-Chinese students respectively. Three winners were chosen from each category. A total of 24 contestants participated in the competition where all contestants were required to sing a Mandarin song. There were three invited judges namely Mr Peter Lim (Master of Ceremonies and singing tutor), Ms Yong Ying Mei (Director MLCC) and Mdm Kang Mei Feng, the programme advisor. Winners from each category were as follows: Category A: Chinese Group
