Chinese Culture Learning Programme at Kongzi Institute, University of Malaya
25 November 2016 - A total of 33 students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) had successfully completed the Chinese Culture Learning Programme at Kongzi Institute, University of Malaya. UMP students who studies Mandarin for Intermediate had participated in the programme which aimed at providing exposure of Chinese Culture to UMP students. The China Director of Kongzi Institute, Mr. Chen Zhong gave a warm welcome to UMP students and the accompanying teachers, Ms Cheng Ching Yee (Mandarin teacher from Centre for Modern Languages & Human Sciences) and Ms Shao Zhenglan (volunteer language teacher from Hanban, China). The half day programme were divided into three sessions. The first session was the Introduction of Chinese Culture by Mr. Chen Zhong. The second session was the Chinese Calligraphy writing session which UMP students experienced how to write Chinese Calligraphy by using the Chinese Calligraphy brush. The third session was the Creative Lantern Making session, which was devoted to introduce and teach UMP students how to decorate their lantern in creative way.
