Mandarin Speaking Contest (UMP Selection)

On 11th April 2018, 1.30pm, Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC) in collaboration with Mandarin Language Society (MLS) organized a Mandarin Speaking contest with a theme of “Experience Chinese Culture, Share Story about China.” This competition was held at CMLHS Mini Theatre, Block X, University Malaysia Pahang, Gambang Campus.

The contest was participated by all non-Chinese students. All participants had to deliver a speech in Mandarin for 2 minutes. A total of 25 non-Chinese UMP students registered for the Mandarin Speaking Contest. The four invited judges were Director of MLCC , Ms Yong Ying Mei, Ms Yong Ying Mei, language teachers from Centre for Modern Languages & Human Sciences (CMLHS),Madam Kang Mei Feng, Mr. Tan Wai Chung and Dr. Lim Kar Sing from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Earth Resources (FKASA).

The main objective of the Mandarin Speaking contest was to select eight candidates to represent UMP in 17th Chinese Bridge Competition for Malaysia Region which will be organized by Kong Zi Institute, University of Malaya on 5th of May 2018.

The winners are:

1st prize: Fahmi Muhamad Rasyid bin Rabuan (KA15065)

2nd prize: Wan Asnida Izzaty Binti Che Mohd (KA17249)

3rd prize: Kirthana A/P Thiruchseivam (CA17153)
