UMP Student Claimed an Outstanding Award in 17th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Malaysia Region 2018

5 May 2018, Head of PALAPES LAUT UMP, Fahmi Muhamad Rasyid Bin Rabuan from Faculty Chemical & Natural Resources Engineering won the second runner up in the 17th Chinese Bridge Competition for Malaysia Region 2018 at Kong Zi Institute, University of Malaya.

A total of 31 competitors from 15 universities took part in the competition. The competition consisted of a series of tests including public speech, Q&A session and Chinese art talent show. All candidates were required to give speeches on “Experience Chinese Culture, Share story about China” in Mandarin.

A total of 7 representatives from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) participated in this competition. They are Fahmi Muhamad Rasyid Bin Rabuan, Daniel Bin Jeffri, Jayabharty A/P Mogan, Nur Khairiyah Hibatullah Binti Md Rosley, Wan Asnida Izzaty Binti Che Mohd Nordin, Kirthana A/P Thiruchseivam and Nur Aina Husna Binti Zam Zam.

This is the second time Fahmi participated in this competition. He shared experiences in learning how to use chopsticks in the speech. He delivered the speech with humor and answered fluently in Q&A session.

In the talent show, UMP representatives performed different talent shows such as Chinese dance, sang Chinese songs, juggling Chinese diablo and poetry recitation. All representatives’ gave their outstanding performances and they were all presented with awards including consolation prizes

Ms. Yong Ying Mei (Director of MLCC) appreciated Ms. Hooi Yan Yee, Madam Kang Mei Feng, Ms. Cai Haixia, Ms. Deng Xingmei, Ms. Jin Yongxin and Ms. Wang Xuemei (Mandarin staff) for their effort and contributions in training and preparing UMP candidates for this competition. Well done to all!
