Dato’ Vice Chancellor Highly Praised Volunteer-Based Programmes By MLCC
UMP Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim praised all the parties, including relevant departments, staff, volunteer teachers and students who have contributed to the running of activities of MLCC since its establishment in 2011. He said this during a high tea party named “Your Contribution Is Appreciated” organized by MLCC on 20 June 2013 at Chancellery Banquet Hall. “The setting up of MLCC has benefited UMP students not only in learning the Mandarin language, but also understanding the Chinese culture.” He said, “MLCC is unique in the sense that all its programmes are managed and participated voluntarily, and they are well received by the students and staff of UMP, and moreover, highly appraised by the lecturers from Hebei University.” The Vice Chancellor also said that UMP was proud of Jamunaa A/P Patchappan, a third year student from Faculty of Computer Systems and Software Engineering, who will be representing Malaysia in the ‘Chinese Bridge’ competition in Changsha, China from 1July until 31 July 2013. The high tea party was also attended by a group of 16 members who will be participating in a student mobility programme to Hebei University, Boading dan Hebei University of Science & Technology, Shijiazhuang, China from 30 June to 13 July 2013. The Vice Chancellor took the opportunity to urge them to make full use of their time in China to learn Chinese language and understand Chinese culture. Other officers who were present at the party include Professor Dato' Ir. Dr. Badhrulhisham Abdul Aziz, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Dr. Abd. Jalil Borham, Dean of Centre for Modern Languages and Human Sciences (CMLHS), Dr. Aini binti Ahmad, Head of Foreign Language Department, Chong Ah Kow, MLCC Coordinator, and Yong Ying Mei. |
