16 STUDENTS ATTENDED A COMPACT AND FRUITFUL SUMMER CAMP IN HEBEI, CHINA
Thursday,18 July 2013| Chong Ah Kow 16 STUDENTS ATTENDED A COMPACT AND FRUITFUL SUMMER CAMP IN HEBEI, CHINA MLCC organized a Student Mobility Programme to Hebei University (HU), Baoding and Hebei University of Science & Technology (HEBUST), Shijiazhuang, China from 30.6.2013 to 13.7.2013. 16 students from various faculties were picked to participate in the programme based on their overall academic performance and activeness in MLCC activities. HU, the main host of the programme, had arranged a Mandarin Language and Culture Summer Camp for the participants. The contents of the camp were compact and fruitful, which included Mandarin lessons, talks and demonstration on Chinese drama, folk songs, paper cutting, taichi, wushu, tea, cultural visits, etc. |

HU Vice President for International Affair Professor Dr. Wang Fengming, Dean of College of International Education & Exchange (CIEE) Professor Dr. Guo Fuliang, Director of Office of International Cooperation Professor Cheng Enqing and teachers of CIEE were present in the welcoming dinner for the programme participants from UMP. Meanwhile on 8.7.2013, all the 16 members, led by companion lecturer Chong Ah Kow, made a one day visit to HEBUST in Shijiazhuang, which was about 140 km away from HU. They experienced the comfort and speed of 300 km/hour of the fast train between Baoding and Shijiazhuang. |

In HEBUST, they received a cordial reception by the Director of Foreign Affairs Office of HEBUST Professor Dr. Xu Yongzan, Deputy Director Yan Cuiying, International Programme Officer Zhao Hailiang, Foreign Students Centre Officers Sun Liang and Pan Shuo, and international students. UMP delegates were invited to visit research laboratories of Material Engineering Faculty, Electrical & Electronic Faculty and workshop of Aeronautics Model Society. | ||
