Seminar on Chinese Teaching and Learning

Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC) had held a Seminar on Chinese Teaching and Learning at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Gambang campus, on 27 and 28 June 2014.

The program was a collaboration with Pahang Education Department, Association of Pahang Chinese School Teachers Malaysia, Association of Pahang Chinese School Headmasters Malaysia and Kongzi Institute, University of Malaya.

A total of 237 teachers and headmasters from Chinese schools all over Pahang took part in this seminar which aimed to enhance the teaching skills and techniques among Chinese teachers.

Mr Chong Ah Kow, Director of Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC) and Ms Yong Ying Mei, Mandarin course coordinator both presented their research papers about Chinese phonetic and Chinese syntax among UMP students, respectively.

Kongzi Institute, University of Malaya also sent a visiting teacher from China, Mr Zhang Jianfeng to give a speech on pedagogy in Chinese classroom activities design.

On top of that, there was also a forum session that discussed about Chinese teaching aspects. Teachers and headmasters exchanged their opinions and experiences with the guests such as Mr Leong Kai Sun, Mr Tang Eng Sun, Madam Gan Feek Moi, Mr Lee Ming Yee and Mr Zhang Jiangfeng.
