Chinese Proficiency Competition 2017

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Mandarin Language Society (MLS) had organised a Chinese Proficiency Competition 2017 on the afternoon of 8th November 2017. The Chinese Proficiency Competition aimed to strengthen student’s proficiency in Mandarin language. The competition was held at WDKUS01, Block W, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Gambang Campus. The competition was divided into two groups, namely, Chinese category and non-Chinese category. There were 54 students for Chinese category, and 30 students for non-Chinese category. Also present were Miss Yong Ying Mei (Director of MLCC), Madam Kang Mei Feng (Advisor of UMP Mandarin Language Society), Mr. Tan Wai Chung and Miss Hooi Yan Yee (Language teachers from Centre for Modern Languages & Human Sciences).
The competition was carried out through Kahoot, a game-based online learning platform. The organising committee from MLS prepared different questions for the two categories. The participants had to answer questions from two rounds and marks from the students were recorded by the committee members. The winners were then decided based on accumulated marks from both rounds. The prize-giving ceremony was held right after the announcement. This Chinese Proficiency Competition was a success as we received much support from the participants.
