Board of Advisors Confucius Institute UMP Online Meeting 2020

17 September 2020 - Confucius Institute Universiti Malaysia Pahang (CI UMP) had organized a meeting of Board of Advisors Confucius Institute Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) via online with Hebei University (HBU), China.

Professor Ir. Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff (Vice Chancellor UMP) chaired the meeting. He expressed gratitude for the friendly support by HBU with contributed masks to UMP during pandemic of Covid-19. Professor Dr Meng Qingyu (Vice President HBU) also appreciated the contribution of gloves from UMP to HBU. He expressed both universities have demonstrated sincere friendship in support each other. He hopes development of CI UMP become better and encourage more cooperation in academic.

Ms. Yong Ying Mei (Director Malaysia CI UMP) reported achievements of CI UMP in Jan-July 2020 and also reported work plan of CI UMP in August-December 2020. In addition, Safety Management Regulations of CI UMP and Standards of Performance Evaluation for Volunteer Chinese Teachers in CI UMP have approved in the meeting.

Both universities had discussion on the management system and work plan for CI UMP due transferring authorise and work of Hanban to Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF) and Center for Language Education Cooperation (CLEC).

Also present were Professor Dr Li Jinshan (Vice President HBU), Associate Professor Liang Weige (Director, Confucius Institute Center, Hebei University), Professor Dr Guo Fuliang (Director China CI UMP), Dr Mohd Azmir Bin Mohd Azhari (Director Centre For International Relation UMP) and others invited attendees.
