A Mandarin Speaking Competition was held in conjunction with the launching ceremony of Mandarin Language & Culture Centre on 18.01.2011, and Ahmad Wafi Zaim Bin Khairuddin from Faculty of Civil Engineering won the 1^st Prize.

YH Prof Dato Dr Daing Mohd Nasir Bin Daing Ibrahim, Vice Chancellor of UMP And Prof Dr Wang Hongrui, President of Hebei University was exchanging MoU signed on the setting up of Mandarin Language & Culture Centre at a ceremony on 18.01.2011. The ceremony was witnessed by Dato Saifuddin, Deputy Minister of Higher education. In his speech, Dato Saifuddin said that his ministry hailed all universities, public or private, to encourage students to learn a third language, as that would improve their opportunities in job market.
