28 May 2020- Confucius Institute Universiti Malaysia Pahang (CI UMP) had organized HSK Test for the first time after set up a Chinese Test Centre was approved by Hanban, China on this early year. The Chinese Test Centre located at CI UMP, Pekan campus. The test centre provide several Chinese Test, namely Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), Chinese Proficiency Speaking Test (HSKK), Business Chinese Test (BCT) and Youth Chinese Test (YCT).
Ms Yong Ying Mei, (Director Malaysia, CI UMP) express that CI UMP also provides free consultation for candidate to choose the test level according to Chinese competency of candidates. Candidates are welcome to contact CI UMP. Candidates also welcome to join HSK Intensive course before sit HSK test at CI UMP.
Due to pandemic COVID-19, HSK test from February to April was postponed or cancelled by Hanban, China. In order to protect the health and safety of candidates and staff, International Chinese Test Centre provided the Online Chinese Test home edition. On 27-31 May, A total of 6242 candidates took part in 150 Test Centre at 54 countries and from Russia, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, United States, Canada, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Online Chinese Test home edition implements functions such as functions of intelligent identification of candidates, real-time monitoring, online answering, online invigilate. Online Chinese Test home edition not only ensures the objective fairness and confidentiality of the exam, but also effectively avoids the possible epidemic risk caused by the gathering of candidates, and at the same time meets the requires of Chinese language learners from various countries for graduation examination and scholarship application.
The teachers of CI assisted the candidates solve the problems encountered to install the exam software, and video-checked whether the examination environment of the candidates met the requirements through Whatsapp video call. HSK candidates also given online mock test to familiar with the system before real test.
Besides that, the teachers of CI as the invigilator to manage Chinese test management system. Chinese test management system including face recognition, test process snapshot, answering progress tracking and etc. With the sufficient preparation and familiarity Chinese test management system, HSK Test Home Edition ended successfully. All candidates managed to completed answering and submitted test. Candidates express HSK Test Home Edition is fast and convenient.
