Confucius Institute (CI) offered Mandarin For Kids for UMP staff’s children during school holiday from 16 December 2019 to 24 December 2019. All total of 15 kids participated Mandarin For Kids in UMP Pekan and UMP Gambang. The kids had really fun time during the class as they can interact with their teachers directly. Mandarin for Kids course conducted by volunteer language teacher from Hanban, China. They are Mr. Li Xin, Mr. Shen Guoqing, Ms. Xu Jinzhi and Ms. Yang Liuping.

13 December 2019 – Professor Dr Guo appointed by Hanban, China and he will serve Confucius Institute, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) for two years. Board of Advisor Confucius Institute, namely Professor Ir. Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff (Vice Chancellor UMP), Ms Yong Ying Mei (Director Malaysia CI UMP) and Dr Mohd Azmir Bin Mohd Azhari (Director Centre For International Relation UMP) accompany Professor Dr Guo Fuliang, Director China Confucius Institute, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) report duty to Malaysia.

Professor Dr Guo officially introduced to Professor Ts. Dr Mohd. Rosli Hainin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) of UMP on 19 December 2019. Hopefully with his presence and lead Confucius Institute to the glorious future.

Gambang, 6 November 2019 - The Confucius Institute UMP (CI) welcomes four new Volunteer Language Teachers (VLTs); Mr Li Xin, Ms Yang Liuping, Ms Xu Jinzhi and Mr Shen Guoqing. Three of them will assign in Gambang and another one will assign at Pekan. The Volunteer Language Teacher is based on the demand for Mandarin courses at UMP.
The new VLTs were also also officially introduced to Professor Ir. Dr Wan Azhar Bin Wan Yusoff (Vice Chancellor of UMP), Professor Dato' Dr. Yuserrie Bin Zainuddin (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs & Alumni), and Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Ridzuan Bin Darun (Registrar) during the UMP 14th Convocation at Sports Complex Hall, UMP Gambang. They were accompanied by Ms. Yong Ying Mei (Director of CI) during the brief introductory session. The VLTs are from Hanban, China and their contract with UMP is for one year. To our new VLTs, CI Huanying ni men!

12 December 2019- Delegation of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) attended Board of Advisor Confucius Institute UMP second meeting at Hebei University, China, namely Professor Ir. Dr. Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff (Vice Chancellor UMP), Ms Yong Ying Mei (Director Malaysia CI UMP) and Dr Mohd Azmir Bin Mohd Azhari (Director Centre For International Relation UMP). Professor Dr Meng Qingyu (Deputy President HBU) chaired the meeting on discuss Confucius Institute (CI) UMP plan on year 2020 and strategic implementation of academic cooperation between both universities. Also present were Associate Professor Liang Weige (Director Confucius Institute Office, HBU) and Professor Dr Guo Fuliang (Director China CI UMP). In addition, delegation of UMP also have an academic collaboration meeting with representative from faculty, HBU.
