Business Chinese Programme
1. COURSE SINOPSIS
Business Chinese Programme is aimed to equip participants the ability to use Mandarin in the course of work. Participants will be able to progress to different levels based on their assessed Mandarin competency. The courses are available in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels covering Comprehensive, Conversational and Writing skills.
2. COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
i.communicate in Mandarin with business partners or customers;
ii.Interpret various types of work-related information, such as technical information, letters, emails, diagrams, forms, procedures, work permits and licence requirement
iii.Write simple business related documents such as letters, emails, reports, etc.;
3. COURSE CONTENT & TIME ALLOCATION
This is a weekend course and lessons will be conducted on Saturday from 9.00-5.00pm with lunch break at 12.00-1.00 pm.

4. PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS
General public with no background of Mandarin Language and wish to pick up the language.
5. PROPOSED VENUE
MLCC/CMLHS MULTIMEDIA LABS (Negotiable)
6. CERTIFICATE
Candidates who have successfully completing the course will be awarded Certificate in Business Chinese Programme by MLCC
7. FEES
RM3000 per student
Fees stated are calculated based on a minimum of 10 students per class and inclusive of modules and registration cost.
Class can be conducted outside UMP campus with extra charges on transportation and cost of venue.

Certificate in Business Translation and Interpretation Skills
1. COURSE SINOPSIS
This course is designed to meet the needs of professionals who deal with Chinese documents and/or Chinese customers in their daily work and who desire to understand the grammatical differences between Chinese and English and want to master the basic theories and skills for Chinese-English bilateral translation and interpretation. The course aims to develop their capability for bilingual communication and enhance their employability
2. COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.Enhance their ability to identify the linguistic differences between Chinese and English;
2.Perform Chinese-English bilateral translation, with emphasis on some commonly used business and trade documents;
3.Perform on the spot oral translation;
4.use different computer-aided translation tools.
3. COURSE CONTENT & TIME ALLOCATION
This is a weekend course and lessons will be conducted on Saturday from 9.00-4.30pm with lunch break at 12.00-1.30 pm.

2. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
The programme aims to equip participants with daily communication skills and knowledge on selected items of Chinese culture.
3. PROGRAMME DURATION
4 weeks
4. TARGET PARTICIPANTS
Form Five School leavers & general public
5. INSTRUCTORS
MLCC Mandarin Teachers.
6. PROGRAMMES CONTENTS
The programme shall include 2 weeks intensive Mandarin training at UMP and 2 weeks Mandarin study cum tour at Hebei University China. Two weeks
Mandarin Language intensive training in UMP will focus on daily language skills with relevant vocabulary and simple language patterns for effective
communication, whereas two weeks study cum tour at Hebei University will include further Mandarin lessons and visits to Chinese cultural galleries such as
tea art, Chinese medicine, martial art, places of cultural heritage like Great Wall, Tiananmen, Peking University, etc.
